Destination Weddings Made Easy
Canada offers some absolutely breathtaking scenery that sometimes gets overlooked for wedding locations. While some provinces are richer than others in this area (BC with their mountain views, and PEI with their red beaches), Ontario has some beautiful beaches of their own that will give you that Destination Wedding feel, without the expense.
Robert Simpson Park
This year, Ottawa didn’t have much of a summer in the way of nice tropical weather, but our fall was rather hot (on the days it didn’t rain). Toward the end of October, I organized a styled photoshoot at Robert Simpson Park in Arnprior. It was a beautiful location and we set up chairs on the beach where I pictured the ceremony to take place. Plenty of picnic tables were available in the grassy park area to show off my place settings. Also, parks often have nearby buildings where the party and meal can be held.
This is another beautiful beach and it is located in Kincardine. I once stayed at the Blue Breezes Bed and Breakfast, which is an adorable little cottage that sits directly on the beach. While I was there for a wedding, the event itself wasn’t on the beach. I enjoyed spending the little free time I had sitting on the hot sand, watching people (like the guy who had an actual parrot with him), and enjoying the scenery.
Have a Beach Wedding in Ontario
You can still have an intimate, romantic beach wedding without flying anywhere.
The cost of flights and hotel rooms can add up. Not to mention the amount of people that will miss out on your big day due to the expenses. Why not stay here?
